Almost without fail, as a project progresses, changes need to be made. Sometimes change is built into the construction agreement,
as in a design-build process. Occasionally, the site conditions require changes to the project and agreement for construction.
Sometimes the timing of the project needs to be changed. A change order is the usual method for amending the contract to account
for and track changes in the work on the project. A change order identifies the intent of the parties to make adjustments to the
contract, and a change order becomes part of the contract.
